Q: I just bought an Audio-Technica AT-PEQ3 Phono preamplifier, so now that I have a preamp for my turntable do I need to buy a regular amplifier?
A: The pre amp for your turntable boosts the the signal from the turntable to standard line levels, and should also provide the correct bias balance. The preamp sits between your turntable and your hifi amplifier, on it's own the impedance and power would be insufficient to drive a pair of speakers.
